June 21

The Emmaus Historical Society will hold its annual member appreciation picnic, 5:30 p.m. at Emmaus Community Park - Moser Pavilion. Special elections for the board of directors will precede the picnic festivities. Entrées and drinks will be supplied by the society. Members are asked to bring an appetizer, side dish or dessert. Non-member guests are welcome and asked to pay 2023 membership dues. Call the office at 610-966-6591 to RSVP with your number attending and what type of appetizer, side dish or dessert you will be bringing.

June 22

The Salisbury Township cheerleaders will host a Chick-fil-A fundraiser 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the restaurant’s Whitehall location. The event is good on dine in and take out orders. Mention the Salisbury cheer team or show the flyer (found online) when placing an order.

June 24

Mark your calendar for the Upper Milford Western District Fire Co. #1 chicken barbecue event at the firehouse, 6341 Chestnut St., Old Zionsville. Dinners available for drive-thru pickup noon to 4 p.m. or until sold out. To purchase tickets in advance contact any member of the fire company, use the link on the fire company’s Facebook page or call 610-928-1033.

The Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, Branch 91, will sponsor a Ukrainian Summer Celebration, Ivana Kupala, noon to 5 p.m. at the Ice House in downtown Bethlehem. This family friendly event is open to the public free of charge. Activities include wreath making, puppet shows and face painting. Cultural exhibits showcasing Ukrainian arts and crafts such as beading (gerdanny), egg painting (pysanky) and traditional headdresses will be on display throughout the day. Food and snacks will be available and music will be provided by Robbie Lawrence and the Steelworkers Polka Band. The highlight of the day’s activities is a stage show 2-4 p.m., featuring the Syzokryli Ukrainian Dance Ensemble from New York City, the St. Mary’s Traditional Ukrainian Dancers from Allentown, violinist Innesa Tymochko Dekajlo from Long Island, N.Y. and Master of Ceremonies, musician, George Hrab. Join other township residents for Salisbury Township Night at the IronPigs. The game starts 7:05 p.m. Tickets include a $2 concession credit. To order tickets, complete the registration form on the township website and return it to the township building.

July 1

Macungie Band concert noon at Rising River Brewery, 1955 Willow Lane, Macungie. This is a ticketed event. Great American barbecue by Bill’s Open Pit Barbecue. Parking passes are required between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Register at www.risingriverbrewing.com.

The 2023 Jerusalem Western Salisbury Concert Series continues with a concert 7 p.m. at the church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown, featuring a local musical group, the Cedar Routes, who play folk country gospel music. The event will be held outside in the grove, weather permitting, or otherwise inside the historic church.

July 10-14

Emmaus Garden Club presents: “Emmaus In Bloom,” a club flower show 1-8 p.m. Aug. 2 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus. Free and open to the public.

Aug. 4-6

The annual Das Awkscht Fescht car show at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 Poplar St., Macungie, 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The event includes kids’ entertainment and activities, a flea market and car corral sale area, bingo, fireworks and displays of antique and classic cars, trucks and motorcycles.

Aug. 3-13

Musikfest, often acclaimed as the largest free non gated music festival, will be held in Bethlehem at various venues. The festival will include music and dance performances, art displays, craft vendors, street performers and more. Visit the website www.musikfest.org for details.

Aug. 25-27

The annual hot rod and custom car jamboree Wheels of Time will be held at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 Poplar St., Macungie. The show opens 7 a.m. each day. The event includes car displays, music performances, a flea market, arts and crafts vendors and a food court.

Sept. 7

Pinochle and bridge players are invited to The Woman’s Club of Emmaus’s Dessert Card Party 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. There is a cost. This is the premiere fundraising activity for the club’s scholarship program. There will be delicious desserts and prizes. To reserve a table, contact Sandy at 610-395-6434. Space is limited.
