Betty L. Proctor, 87, of Northampton, died June 13, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice, Allentown. She was the wife of James R. Proctor for 66 years.
Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Ralph E. and Mildred C. (Bachman) Missimer.
She was a 1953 graduate of Northampton High School.
She was a customer service representative at the former Twin County Cable/RCN, Northampton, for 25 years until she retired in 1997.
She was a member and elder of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Northampton, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 52 years. She was church treasurer for 26 years. She was a member and treasurer for the women’s group and was a member of the Christian education board.
She was an assistant and a treasurer for Boy Scout Troop 93. She was a member of Northampton AARP. She assisted Northampton Area Food Bank with fundraising events for 12 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Christopher J. and wife Nancy of Catasauqua and Dennis R. and wife Lori of Whitehall; a daughter, Kimberly S. and husband Mark Jenkins of Ashland, Mass.; a sister, Barbara A. Budnik of Northampton; a son-in-law, Greg Blazinsky of Northampton; a sister-in-law, Elinor Missimer of Northampton; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Valerie Blazinsky; and a brother, Donald R. Missimer.
