Robert Joshua Shaffer Barette, 90, of Macungie, died peacefully in his sleep June 3, 2023. He was the husband of Sandra L. (Sweeney) Barette for 54 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Harold C. and Mildred M. (Shaffer) Barette.

He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during Korea.

He was a lifelong skier, beginning skiing in 1939 at the age of seven and continued for 79 years taking his last run in 2019. He joined the National Ski Patrol in 1958 and was an active member for over 50 years.

In addition to skiing, he loved golf, working in the garden, swimming, trips to the beach, sitting in the sun and time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife; son, Andre and husband, Alex Domeracki; daughter, Heather and her husband, Ross Cannady; grandchildren, Riley and Dane Cannady.
