Catasauqua: Morning Glories group to meet June 19 at Holy Trinity church

The Morning Glories group will meet 10 a.m. June 19 at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St. Sue Marakovits is going to provide group members with summer fun.

Playground summer food collection items are small bottles of water and individually packaged salty snacks.

Reminder: The free summer concert series continues with Third Hand Trio performing 7-10 p.m. June 16 at the Catasauqua Park and Playground amphitheater, 501 American St.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St., is holding its monthly free community lunch 11 a.m.-1 p.m. June 19.

The Friends of Catasauqua Parks group next meets 6:30 p.m. June 21 at the municipal complex, 90 Bridge St. The group meets the third Wednesday of the month.

The mission of the group is to improve the quality of life of borough residents through recreational fundraising events to sustain the parks. The group is always looking for new members. There is no cost or dues to join this group.

St. Mary’s Church, 122 Union St., will hold its annual block party 6-10 p.m. June 22-24. This event offers games for adults and children. Bingo will be held in our air-conditioned hall every night unless there’s rain.

Homemade food includes cabbage and noodles, halupki, turkey barbecue, pierogies and more. There will also be a bake sale and basket raffle.

Music and entertainment will be provided by D.H. Productions.

Parking is available on Race Street, at the bottom of Second Street, with safe crossing provided by Catasauqua Fire Police.

The Friends of the Public Library of Catasauqua and Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association are hosting a summer pop-up shop and tea party noon-4 p.m. June 25 in the community room at the library, 302 Bridge St. Come and shop for handmade arts and crafts from local vendors and enjoy a light lunch, which includes soup, tea sandwiches, sweets and beverages.

Reservations for the lunch are recommended at a discounted price, but you can also buy a lunch at the door. There is no charge to browse and shop.

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., West Catasauqua, has bingo 1 p.m. June 25. Doors open noon. Bingo will continue with tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game and more.

There will be refreshments available for purchase.

Bring a nonperishable food item for Whitehall Food Pantry.
