Charles P. Phillips Jr.

Charles P. “Chuck” Phillips, Jr., 87 of Macungie, died June 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.

He was born Feb. 3, 1936.

A great man with a big heart and a warm, embracing smile, he was the definition of a family man that was a true patriarch in every way.

He was a man who supported his kids, spoiled his grandkids and thoroughly enjoyed his great grandkids.

To his wife Dee, he was more than a husband of 67 years. He was her best friend.

They were inseparable and their love was truly inspirational and unwavering.

A multisport athlete, an avid golfer, a die-hard Steelers fan, he graduated from Juniata College in 1958 with a degree in accounting.

Before retiring, he was employed for many years by US Steel and Lehigh Portland Cement.

In addition to his loving wife Deanna “Dee” Phillips, he is survived by daughters Shelley Berlin and her husband, Brian, of Bethlehem, Tammy Cihylik and her husband, Steve, of Allentown, Laurey Sperring and her husband, Jeff, of Lantana, Texas; grandchildren Michael Berlin and his wife, Emily, Anna Berlin, Baylea Sperring and her fiancé, John Christich, and Raleigh Sperring and her husband, Adrian Shodi; and great granddaughters, Callan and Leni Shodi.

While our painful sense of loss at Chuck’s passing is with us, we are lifted by his spirit and knowing the place he holds in our hearts, because he is still, he is always, with us.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
