The roster for Lehigh Valley’s Carpenter Cup softball team has been announced by head coach Brian Fehnel that includes 13 rising juniors and seniors from District XI.
Rising seniors are Ariana Castillo (Liberty), Sydney Frantz (Palmerton), Autumn Held (Emmaus), Hailey Pyle (Bethlehem Catholic), Sage Toman (Northwestern Lehigh), Kate Yadush (Whitehall), Brianna Amey (Emmaus), Carly Gaffney (Palmerton), Aubrey Steiner (Whitehall), and Delaney Troxell (Catasauqua).
Rising juniors are Alina Weaver (Nazareth), Karlye Teman (Palisades), and Addison Sabo (Liberty).
Lehigh Valley’s players will compete in the Carpenter Cup Softball Classic, a tournament sponsored by the Philadelphia Phillies, on June 20 and 21 at FDR Park in Philadelphia.
Pitchers for Lehigh Valley are Teman, Held, Pyle, Gaffney, and Troxell.
Catchers are Toman and Steiner.
Playing the infield are Weaver, Castillo, Yadush, and Amey, and playing in the outfield are Frantz, Sabo, Toman, and Held.
Assisting Coach Fehnel are Ricky Sechler, Bill Held, and Kelly Dulaney.
Lehigh Valley will face teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware in the tournament, which is also a showcase for college coaches.
The teams will be divided into four brackets, and the top two teams from each bracket will advance to quarterfinals.
Lehigh Valley is in Bracket D, along with Olympic Colonial, Inter-AC, and Burlington County.
In preparation for the Carpenter Cup Softball Classic, Lehigh Valley will scrimmage the Patriettes 23U team in a doubleheader beginning at 6 p.m. on June 14 at Patriots Park in Allentown.
