Northampton: Paw Prints on the Canal is June 11

The Paw Prints on the Canal event, held rain or shine, is scheduled for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 11 and will include crafts and vendors galore, demonstrations and vaccination clinics.

Profits benefit Northampton Police Department’s K-9 unit.

Queenship of Mary Church has its parish festival scheduled for 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. June 11 at the church, 1324 Newport Ave. The festival features food and drinks for purchase. There will also be games, raffles, live music and more.

Reminder: June distribution dates at Northampton Area Food Bank, 1601 Canal St., are 9-11:30 a.m. June 8 and 15 and 5-7 p.m. June 10 and 17.

If you need to register, bring a photo ID with your current address or photo ID and a utility bill or a lease with the correct address on it. You should reside in Northampton, although there are some exceptions. You will also need the names of everyone living with you full time. Registration can be done 9-11:30 a.m. Wednesdays.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet June 14 at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 11 a.m. The speaker is from AARP Foundations Senior Service Employment Program.

All members are invited to attend, as are any potential new members and visitors.

Northampton Fire Department is hosting a youth summer camp, for men and women ages 12-15, July 10-14. There will be scheduled events throughout each day that will include learning what a firefighter does, hands-on training, team building and more.

The camp, which is open to borough residents only, is planned for 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. each day with a graduation ceremony July 15.

There is a cost.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is currently registering for the 2023-24 school year.

The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12 children, who do not need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children, who need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children, who need to be toilet trained for this class.

Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
