Leona A. Keppel, 87, of Coplay, died June 1, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Frank Keppel for 44 years.
Born in Whitehall, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Berdy) Molchany.
She was a 1953 Whitehall High School graduate.
She worked at Werley Daycare for more than 10 years.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.
She is survived by seven children, David Keppel of Allentown, Anne Denny and husband John of Bethlehem, Doreen Polaha and husband Michael of Newport Beach, Calif., Michelle Heaney and husband Gene of Bethlehem, Philip Keppel and wife Jill of Burbank, Calif., Jennifer Lucas and husband Chris of Bellefonte and Kevin Keppel and wife Shannon of Coplay; 13 grandchildren, Ryan Denny, Victoria Polaha, Rebecca Polaha, Stephen Heaney, Tyler Heaney, Evan Heaney, Brandon Lawton, Taylor Keppel, Owen Keppel, Marissa Lucas, Jamison Lucas, Lilah Keppel and Emmy Keppel; a brother, John Molchany and wife Mary of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; a brother-in-law, George Kurtz of Northampton; nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, John Jr.; a stepmother, Susan (Kuchera) Molchany; and a sister, Barbara Kurtz.
