Gus M. Dekrell, 78, of Coplay, died June 2, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Patricia J. (Gilbert) Dekrell for 56 years.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Gustov and Rose (Eskowitz) Dekrell.

He was the store manager at Verizon, Whitehall, for 10 years before retiring in 2008. Before that, he was the store manager of the former Silo, Whitehall, for 15 years, and previously managed multiple other locations for 17 years.

He was a past president of the Upper Lehigh Lions Club, Schnecksville.

A member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laurys Station, he formerly served on the church council.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Michael E. Dekrell with Jill of Chicago, Ill., Jeffrey W. Dekrell with Heather of Allentown and Brian J. Dekrell with Tammy of Schnecksville; a half-sister, Barbara Kaunas with Jim of Orwigsburg; and four grandchildren, Brittany, Evan, Kayla and Kennedy.

He was predeceased by three half-brothers, John and Joseph Dekrell and Arnold Braun.
