Egypt/Cementon: Hokey pool to open June 17

The opening weekend for Parkview Pool, 3051 S. Fifth St., Hokendauqua, is 1-4 p.m. June 17 and 18. After that, daily hours are noon-7 p.m.

Pool passes will be available 11 a.m.-1 p.m. June 12-16 at the township municipal building. Passes will also be available June 17 and 18 at the pool.

Egypt Community Church is accepting registrations for its Vacation Bible School program - Keepers of the Kingdom. The program, occurring 6-8:30 p.m. June 19-23, will be held in the church’s fellowship hall, 4128 Bridge St.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Egypt, will hold a free community meal 4-6 p.m. June 20. Menu items include pulled pork, beef hot dogs, macaroni salad, chips, salad fixings, iced tea, water, coffee and ice cream sundaes.

The Whitehall High School Classes of 1959-61 are having a summer social noon-6 p.m. June 24 at Egypt Memorial Park, 4540 Hillcrest Lane. There is a small cost.

Food will be provided by Samuel Owens catering. No alcohol will be served or allowed. Attendees are welcome to donate desserts.

Advance tickets for the Cement Belt Fair are now available at King Kone, 4128 Springmill Road, Egypt. The fair will be held 6-10 p.m. June 26-July 1 at Victor Talotta/Cementon Park, 5185 Dewey St.

VBS will be held 6-8:30 p.m. July 10-14 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church for age 3 to those who completed sixth grade. This year’s theme is Stellar, Shine Jesus’ Light.

The youth group of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church is running a used clothing drive to raise funds for its 2024 mission trip. The group is collecting new or gently used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, shoes, purses, belts, bed and bath linens and stuffed animals.

Shoes must be bagged separately.
