Darlene Bender, 67, of Whitehall, died May 30, 2023. She was the wife of Warren Bender.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Owen and Florance (Kern) McElroy.

She graduated from Whitehall High School.

She worked for PMA Insurance for 23 years before retiring in 2018.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, James Schwoyer; three grandchildren, Ryan Schuler, Elizabeth Schwoyer and Shaina Schuler; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Steinhofer and Lucille Walper; a brother, Pat Costa Jr.; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Jeanette Fink.
