Coplay: Honey Buzzards to perform June 9

The Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., continues its Friday night music series.

The June lineup includes Honey Buzzards June 9, Triple Dog Dare June 16, Sons of Izzy June 23 and Smith Compound Band June 30.

Doors, bar and kitchen all open 5 p.m. The bands perform 6-10 p.m.

Coplay’s Parkway Pool, Second and Keefer streets, opens for the season June 17.

The pool is gearing up for a great summer season with Aqua Zumba by Tara Miller, free swim weekend Aug. 25-27, twilight pool evenings and other activities.

The Coplay Saengerbund is hosting its Founders Day celebration - Stiftungsfest - June 25.

Doors open noon, and singing begins 2:30 p.m.

Join in the party as the club celebrates its 106th anniversary. The Emil Schanta band will perform, followed by additional music and guest choruses.

There will be music, dancing, food and drinks all afternoon in the outside grove. Wear your trachen, Bavarian and Austrian clothing.

The event is open to the public. There is a cost.

The Coplay Garden Club meets at St. John’s Lutheran Church social hall, 18 S. Third St. The next meeting is 7 p.m. June 29.

The club’s tip of the month - Now is the time to plant new perennials.

Coplay Senior Citizens group meets 1 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays at the Coplay Fire Hall building, 165 Cherry St. Doors open noon.

Membership is open to all Lehigh Valley seniors.

A note from Coplay Crime Watch: There was a report of thieves stealing from mailboxes. Be aware of any suspicious people walking around your neighborhood slowly, particularly if you have a streetside mailbox.

American Club of Coplay, 300 Cherry St., continues to offer its monthly hoagie sales. Hoagies (regular or tuna) and sandwiches (ham and cheese or tuna) are available.

The Coplay Community Days committee is planning an exciting 2023 event.

The Aardvarks are scheduled for Aug. 25. This will be the group’s 10th anniversary at the event.

The committee is also expanding its kids’ activities over the weekend.

The committee meets 7 p.m. the fourth Monday of every month in Coplay council chambers, 98 S. Fourth St. Meetings are open to the public.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta and rice pouches.
