Benjamin Ramos Ferrer, 72, of Emmaus, died May 26, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit, Allentown.

He was the companion of the late Diane V. (Bysher) Hartman.

Born Jan. 12, 1951, in Carolina, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Benjamin Ramos Rivera and Tioda Ferrer.

He was a horse jockey for 25 years before retiring.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Macungie.

He is survived by his companion’s sons Robert H.E. Brown III and his wife, Donna Lee, of Breinigsville, Michael J. Brown and his wife, Angela, of Schnecksville; siblings Carlos, Ebvelyn, Marie and Milagros Ramos, all of Puerto Rico; and grandchildren Shelby, Timothy, Aaron and Ariana Brown.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Zachary Brown.

His memorial service will be 10 a.m. on June 10 in Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, with the Rev. Samantha Drennan officiating.
