On May 22, Whitehall-Coplay School Board held its regular meeting.
Minutes from the April 24 regular meeting and the May 8 committee meetings were approved, as were the bills and salaries.
The board recognized Student Council representatives who gave monthly updates to the board, as well as Staples and all the community support for National Police Week.
Whitehall-Coplay PTO PLUS was thanked for its contributions during the school year.
The board announced it was able to eliminate some expenses from the grounds improvements section of the budget, decreasing the anticipated tax increase to 2.9% more than last year. This is the lowest increase since the 2017-18 school year. The board is waiting to see how the governor’s budget will affect this budget, possibly lowering the 2.9% increase.
The next meeting will be 4 p.m. June 12. The 2023-24 school year budget will be voted on at that time.
