ALLENTOWN Movies offered in June

The City of Allentown’s “Movies in the Park” series returns this year with family-friendly movie nights run by the Bureau of Recreation through October as part of the City’s free entertainment lineup this summer.

·June 24 at 8:30 p.m.: “Black Panther Wakanda Forever” at Stevens Park. Activities start at 6 p.m. Rain date is June 25.

·July 22 at 8:30 p.m.: “Top Gun Maverick” at the Union Terrace Amphitheatre. Rain date is July 23. The movie follows a free concert by The Large Flowerheads band at 6 p.m.

Activities at each movie night include yard games, arts and crafts stations, acoustic performances, and information and resources from several City departments.

The Recycling and Solid Waste Bureau will host educational games around trash and recycling, and the Health Bureau will offer education around health services like period poverty, child immunizations, and child injury prevention.

Lehigh Valley Reads will also provide free books.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and/or snacks.
