The Emmaus boys volleyball team had a bye through the first round of last week’s East Penn Conference playoffs.
The No. 2 seed Hornets opened play with a semifinal round win over No. 6 Freedom, 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 18-25, 25-22). Emmaus (16-1) advances to face Parkland (16-0) in Wednesday’s title game at 6 p.m. at Allen High School. The Trojans beat No. 4 Liberty 3-1 in their semifinal match up.
The Hornet’s Logan Dougherty (15 kills) and Jametric Harris (14 kills) led the way for the Emmaus offense, while Cael Kratzer added six kills and Cooper Henseler recorded 38 assists in the match.
The league title game will be a rematch of the Hornet’s final regular season match, which they lost 3-0 to unbeaten Parkland.
