District News: Last camp sign-up is May 25
The last sign-up for Camp Whitehall, for Whitehall-Coplay School District students in grades 1-6, is May 25 at the Whitehall Township Municipal Building, 3219 MacArthur Road. You can also register at whitehalltownship.org.
Camps are set for June 19-23, June 26-30, July 10-14, July 17-21, July 24-28 and July 31-Aug. 4. Camp will be held 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., at Hokendauqua Park and Playground, 3417 Lehigh St., and limited to 60 campers per week. Parents/guardians must drop off and pick up.

Senior field day will begin 8 a.m. May 26 at the Zephyr Sports Complex. Students should report to school as normal for field day and dress to participate in activities throughout the day.

Zephyr Nation’s Powder Game will be 7 p.m. May 26 at the football stadium. The rain date for the event is 1 p.m. May 27. Come see the upperclassmen take on the underclassmen in a game of flag football!

The senior military day program is set for 10-11 a.m. May 30 and will be presented in the LGI room at Whitehall High School.
Seniors who are enlisting in the U.S. armed forces will be honored during this brief ceremony.

The final A day is May 30. The final B day is May 31 for WHS and Lehigh Career and Technical Institute students. The final day of school for seniors is May 31.
Senior makeup day is June 1 if students need to complete anything for courses. Teachers will communicate this directly to students. If students do not have anything to complete, they are not required to attend.

The Zephyr football team’s annual golf tournament is set for June 3 at Whitetail Golf Club, 2679 Klein Road, Bath.

The 2023 WHS yearbooks have arrived!
Seniors can pick up their preordered yearbook or purchase one on the spot for $80 in cash. Underclassmen now have an opportunity to purchase yearbooks from the school store beginning June 6 during all lunches.

Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, located in Allentown, off Route 78, is offering a summer sports camp, set for June 12-Aug. 25. The institute will have full days (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) and half days (9 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1-5 p.m.).

The camp is a safe and fun environment, and all instructors are CPR trained.

Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative is offering free meals Tuesdays and Sundays throughout the year. For more information, check out the linked flier on the WCSD social media app or the WCHI website.
In addition, its food pantry distributions are 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4:30-7 p.m. the second and third Thursdays of the month at St. John the Baptist Church’s complex in the former Christ the King School, 3024 S. Ruch St., Stiles. You must have an appointment, and income limits apply.
