Holly E. Sorensen

Holly Evelyn (Hinz) Sorensen, 46, of Salisbury Township, lost her courageous battle with ovarian cancer May 11, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of Darryl L. Sorensen since July 24, 2004. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Henry and Evelyn (Hryshko) Hinz, of Roaring Brook Township.

She was employed as the early intervention manager at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network for more than 18 years.

She was a 1995 graduate of North Pocono High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Scranton.

She devoted her life to her precious children, Kevyn and Katelyn. She enjoyed watching her kids excel at their sports and creating many memories with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Youth Hockey Organization and Parkettes Gymnastics families.

She was strong, courageous, intelligent, big-hearted and was always willing to lend a hand. As one of her nurse’s said, “She is sweet and kind and tough as nails.” It was very rare to see her without a smile on her face. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and all outdoors adventures.

She is survived by her husband; children; parents; siblings, Ann Sledzinski, Bonnie (Bill) McCormick, Lynn (Alan) Cunningham, Ellen (Steve) Raguckas, Betsy Palko, Henry (Christina) Hinz; mother-in-law, Carol; stepmother-in-law, Donna; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Dane.

Contributions may be made to Lehigh Valley Phantoms Youth, P.O. Box 1174, Bethlehem, 18016 and/or Parkettes Gymnastics, 401 Martin Luther King Drive, Allentown, 18102 in her memory.
