EHS hosts Spirit Week with Aevidum Club

To close the school year, the Emmaus High School Theater Department will host its final meeting after school May 18 in Room 201, the Black Box. Officer elections and an end-of-year slideshow will be presented on this date. With questions, contact jkuebler@eastpennsd.org.
National Honor Society is seeking volunteers for the annual Shoemaker Elementary School Color Run. Held May 19, the event offers time slots ranging between 3:30-8 p.m. To sign-up, visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080f4aa4ad2ca1f58-color?useFullSite=true#/.
During the week of May 22, EHS will host an end-of-year spirit week. From Monday to Friday, the daily themes are as follows: Hornet T-shirt Day, Tie-Dye Day, Wellness Wednesday, Throwback Thursday and Aevidum T-shirt Day, which can include black or yellow attire. For The Stinger’s 2023-2024 staff, preproduction will be held May 22-25, followed by production May 29 to June 2. More details can be found in The Stinger’s shared Google Drive. With questions, contact ashah25@eastpennsd.org or rlopez24@eastpennsd.org.
The EHS Art Show will be held 7-9 p.m. May 25. As a free, student-produced event, all are encouraged to attend. Questions may be directed to tmaley@eastpennsd.org.
The underclassmen awards ceremony will take place 8:30 a.m. May 26 in the EHS Auditorium. The senior awards ceremony will be held 6:30 p.m. May 31 in the EHS Auditorium.
On May 26, all EHS students will be dismissed 11 a.m. No lunches will be served on this date. In honor of Memorial Day, the school district will be closed May 29.
The Stinger’s April issue is now available in the green boxes near the main office, HIVE and Room 559. As the final issue produced by the 2022-2023 staff, it includes five in-depth stories on social issues, including food insecurity, gender inequality in STEM and firearms in America. The next issue will release in June.
After the indefinite opening and closing of several school restrooms, EHS has released a final list of locations which will remain open at all times: main office, science hallway, cafeteria, English hallway, World Language hallway, Math hallway, locker rooms and nurse’s office.
The nurse’s office restrooms are for students receiving medical attention only. Aside from those listed, all other restrooms will remain closed indefinitely.
