Lehigh Elementary School’s BOGO spring book fair will be held during library classes May 18-21.

Northampton Area Middle School’s seventh- and eighth-grade chorus/show choir concert is 7-8:30 p.m. May 19 in the auditorium at Northampton Area High School.

The NAMS band concert will be 7:30-8:30 p.m. May 23 in the auditorium of NAHS.

NAMS’ orchestra concert is planned for 7-8 p.m. May 24 in the NAHS auditorium.

Northampton Area School District will be closed for Memorial Day May 29.

There will be early dismissals May 30 and 31 and June 1 and 2. June 2 is the last day for students.

NAMS’ eighth-grade moving-up ceremony is May 31 and June 1.

To register your child for kindergarten or first grade, visit nasdschools.org. Admission to kindergarten requires a child be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, and admission to first grade requires a child be 6 years old on or before Sept. 1.

Children currently enrolled in kindergarten in the NASD do not need to register for first grade.

Immunization records must show the following: four doses of tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis (one dose on or after the fourth birthday); four doses of polio (fourth dose on or after the fourth birthday and at least six months after previous dose given); two doses of measles, mumps, rubella (usually given as MMR); three doses of hepatitis B; and two doses of varicella (chickenpox) or evidence of immunity.

Physical and dental examinations are also required for entrance into kindergarten.

Additionally, upload to the online application two proofs of current residency, which can be a copy of a mortgage, lease or rental agreement; a utility bill; Pennsylvania Department of Transportation identification or driver’s license; Pennsylvania Department of Transportation vehicle registration; copy of state or federal program enrollment; copy of paycheck stub with name and address of employee and employer; residency affidavit, as well as the original birth certificate for child and custody papers if applicable.
