Malcolm H. McMichael Sr., 90, of Orefield, died May 7, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He and his wife, Arnetta J. (Doster) McMichael, were married 70 years.
Born Sept. 6, 1932, in Oxford, Chester County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maude (Head) McMichael.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era earning the rank of corporal.
A member of the Teamsters Union Local 773, he worked for the former Consolidated Freightways for 30 years before retiring in 2000.
He logged over 1 million miles without an accident.
He was a member of Weisenberg Lutheran Church, New Tripoli.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Alvin J. McMichael (Karen) of Allentown; daughter Donna J. Pechacek (Scott) of Germansville; siblings Daniel McMichael of Virginia, William McMichael of Lebanon, Norman McMichael (Frannie) of Palmryra, Lester McMichael of Harrisburg, and Doris McMichael (Rick) of New Cumberland; grandchildren Ashley, Michael, Jason and Briana; and great-grandchildren Brantley, James and Josephine.
He was predeceased by sons, Malcolm H. Jr. and Rickey Lee McMichael.
His memorial service will be held 11 a.m. May 12 at Weisenberg Lutheran Church, 7645 Weisenberg Church Road, New Tripoli with the Rev. Brandon M. Heavner officiating.
Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. Friday in the church.
Private interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
