Paul Leo Veneskey, 78, of Emmaus, died April 29, 2023, at his home. He was the husband of Mena (Vrotny) Veneskey. Born in Bedford, Ohio, he was the son of the late Leo and Leona (Schenk) Veneskey and raised in Ebensburg.
He served in the Navy aboard the USS Canopus from 1968 to 1970.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree and MBA from Penn State University.
He worked in purchasing, mainly in the chemical industry. He co-founded the ChemPharma Professional Association in 1999 and volunteered at the Red Cross and CareerLink.
A member of the Emmaus Senior Golf League, he “shot his age” at 73 and scored a hole-in-one the same year. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, grilling and baking. He considered his family tree research to be his life’s most important work.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Amy (Jamie) Howe and Laura; grandchildren, Sebastian and Clara Howe; siblings, Norma (Blake) Netherwood, Gwen (John Urbaniak), Monica Peterman, Leo (Marian), Lea, Ruth (Marc) Awada, Cathy (Deepak) Wadhwani, Jim (Tina); many nieces and nephews.
Contributions may be made in his memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the ALS Association, or LVHN Hospice.
A memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. May 27 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 415 S. Sixth St., Emmaus. A calling period will be held 6 to 8 p.m. May 26 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus.
