Coplay Public Library: Basket social set for May 13

Coplay Public Library’s spring basket social will be May 13 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the library and will be available for purchase during the dinner at the church, 4-6 p.m. May 13.

The baskets will remain on display at the library until the day of the social.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent Celebration of Youth event at Coplay Tot Lot. Everyone had a great time, and new friendships were formed.

Storytime with Miss Sharon, for all ages, will be 11 a.m. May 13 at 49 S. Fifth St. A craft will follow.

No preregistration is necessary.

Visit the library to watch a movie on our big-screen TV. We are screening movies 1 p.m. every Saturday.

The schedule includes “Romancing the Stone” May 13 and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” May 20.

The library will be closed May 27-29 for the Memorial Day holiday. Remember to thank a veteran for his or her service.

The library will be hosting a crocheting class 1 p.m. Wednesdays for all levels of experience. Bring your current project or start a new one.

If you don’t crochet but knit, do latch rugs or needlepoint instead, come join.

The library is helping the borough’s park and recreation committee with a fundraiser by selling lottery calendars for the month of June.

Your donation will help support the pool and gives you 30 chances to win!

Do you have books that are gently read that you would like to donate to the library? We are happy to accept them. We also accept DVDs and CDs.

For your safety, drop them off at the circulation desk during open hours.

Need to use a computer to search for information or make copies? We have six public access computers for you to use. Just show your library card at the front desk when you come into the library.

If you don’t have a library card, it only takes a few minutes to get one. All you need is a form of ID, like a driver’s license.

Library cards are free and can be used at 12 libraries in Lehigh and Carbon counties.
