Albert Gene DeSena, 89, of Macungie, died May 5, 2023, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria Esther Rodriguez. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Lorenzo DeSena and Eugenia Giglio.
In 1953 he enlisted in the Army for two years and then worked at the Knitting Mill Company for 13 years before landing a position at New York Tel also known as Verizon. He worked as a field technician for Verizon for 30 years, retiring in 1998.

He is remembered by his friends and family as a man of prayer and tremendous faith, dedicated, devoted, selfless, generous, patient, encouraging, tender and had a wonderful sense of humor.
He found relaxation in watching his old-time movie favorites and singing favorite church hymns like “I’ll Fly Away” and “Amazing Grace.”
