The Parkland boys track and field team went to 7-0 with wins over Bethlehem Catholic and Liberty last week.
The Trojans hammered the Golden Hawks 144-6 and the Hurricanes 137-13 in back-to-back blowouts.
Dylan Simon was awesome against Liberty as he won the 100-meter and 200-eterm dashes. Brian Hard took the 400 race while Parkland teammate Brady Hoffman won the 800. In the 1,600, Liam McGuigan reigned supreme, while Logan McEvoy won the 3,200. Andrew Beers had a fine afternoon winning the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles. The Trojans won the two of the meet’s three relays.
Another fine athlete on the Parkland roster is Conor Johns and he had a good day winning the high jump. Joshua Pulver finished first in the long jump ahead of Johns who took second. Jack Harrison looked good in claiming the triple jump, while Julius Reyes won the discus throw and Leo Dauberman took the javelin and Nathan Kemmerer was top the shot put.
All season Parkland has been able to receive a wealth of good performance in every sport. The depth has been the difference.
“It is a team effort,” Parkland coach Stephen Ott said. “Our staff stresses that to each area. I think our team supports and encourages each other. As a team, not only winning an event is important, but also the second and third place points help to get the team victory.
The Trojans have the chance to have a perfect regular season record if they can beat Emmaus in the season finale May 2.
