Alton Park will once again be the site of the Detective James Stanko Memorial PAL Softball Tournament, scheduled for May 20. Rain date is May 21.

Named after late Detective Stanko, the tournament reflects his legacy in helping Allentown Police Department build strong community ties, especially with the city’s youth.

Officer T.C. Cunningham is in charge of organizing this year’s tournament.

According to Cunningham, 12 softball teams will faceoff starting at around 10 a.m. and go throughout the day.

Among the teams playing will be representatives from Allentown Police, St. Luke’s, Cetronia, Lehigh County and EMS personnel.

Basket raffles, Bethlehem Mounted Police, as well as food trucks will be on site.

The money raised will go toward the PAL building on the grounds of the police academy.
