The Lehigh Valley Carpenter Cup baseball tryouts will be taking place on May 14 in the first official meeting for this year’s team.
The prestigious 16-team tournament, sponsored by the Philadelphia Phillies, brings together teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware to showcase the best high school baseball players across the region.
The Lehigh Valley team lost in last year’s first round of the single-elimination event, but have won the tournament three times (1998, 2001 and 2011).
Teams need to win their first two games to advance to the semifinal round where action moves to Citizens Bank Park.
