Whitehall Township Public Library: Pollinator program is May 16

Join Lehigh County Conservation District to learn about pollinators 11 a.m. May 16. Find out all about the benefits of bugs and imagine being a bee for a day. Make a flower bookmark, and learn how to make a seed ball for local pollinators to enjoy.

This program, which requires registration, is recommended for kids ages 36 months-5 years.

The Creation Station Weather Wonders program is set for 6 p.m. May 17. Kids can enjoy different STEM projects at our monthly Creation Station event, which is open to youths in grades 3-6.

Registration is required.

The barbershop quartet ffourtissimo is returning to the library 6:30 p.m. May 25.

Registration is requested.

A Good Yarn is the newest club at the library. Whether you work with hooks or needles, yard or thread, you’re welcome to join.

The club will meet 2-4 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of each month.

Donate new toys or kits to be used as reading incentive prizes for toddlers to teens during the summer reading program.

May’s museum pass spotlight is Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, 300 Gap Road, Strasburg. The museum includes more than 100 locomotive and railroad cars on display and is devoted to telling the rich stories of railroading in Pennsylvania, including the railroads, manufacturers, support industries, workers and travelers.

Museum passes are free with your LCLC library card. The pass allows for two adults and four children into the museum. Passes must be checked out and returned to the Whitehall library circulation desk.

The library is planning to hold an indoor yard sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m. June 2 and 3.

There is a bag sale set for noon-3 p.m. June 3.

The library is accepting donations of new or like-new items, such as kitchenware and decorations. We can’t take any clothes, electronics or anything too large like furniture.

Join the library’s adult book club - On the Same Page. This club will meet 6:30 p.m. the third Thursday of every other month. Books will be loaned as availability allows.

The reading schedule includes the following books: “Under the Whispering Door,” June 15; “Black Cake,” Aug. 17; “Home Before Dark,” Oct. 19; and “Firekeeper’s Daughter,” Nov. 16.

Registration is required.

The library is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
