Walter L. Keeney, 97, of Whitehall, died April 22, 2023, at Fellowship Community. He was the husband of the late Ann (Bowen) Keeney.
Born in Sugar Run, he was a son of the late Ray and Ruth (Bunnell) Keeney.
He was a private first class in the U.S. Army during World War II in five campaigns including the Normandy invasion, northern France, central Europe, Ardennes Forest and Rhineland, Germany.
He was a truck driver for the former Matlack Transportation Services, Northampton, for more than 20 years before he retired in 1980.
He was a clock builder.
He is survived by two sons, Donald L. Sr. and wife Ginger and Harold M. and wife Patsy, all of Whitehall; a daughter, Patricia A. Uivary of Northampton; four grandchildren, Wendy Uivary of Northampton, Lisa Keeney-Ziegenfus of Whitehall, Donald L. Keeney Jr. and wife Jaime of Nazareth and Joshua Keeney and wife Janelle of Walnutport; and four great-grandchildren, Miranda, Alexis, Jaxon and Autumn.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Walter Uivary.
