SHS Key Club to assist with Special Olympics event

Advanced Placement testing is beginning and will run for the first two weeks of May. Students who take AP classes have been studying and working on practice exams during their class time. If students signed up for the exam, they will be taking them in the building during the school day on their assigned testing day.

The Salisbury High School Key Club is traveling to Whitehall High School for the Special Olympics event May 5. Students who volunteered will leave school for the day and return just before the school day ends. Key Club members will be helping individuals with physical and mental disabilities complete track events. Salisbury students with disabilities will also attend with the student volunteers.

The SHS Art Show will be held 5-8 p.m. May 9. Doors will be open before 5 p.m. Artwork from all grades K-12 will be on display and are ready to be seen. Student volunteers from National Honor Society will help set up and help direct visitors.

The SHS junior/senior prom will be held 5-10 p.m. May 13. Ticket sales have concluded and many students are expected to attend. Senior hour will be 5-6 p.m. and the door will be open to all other ticket holders around 6 p.m. There will be a photo booth, another photo area with a backdrop and a ‘Design Your Own Mug’ table.

Keystone testing for students in grades nine, 10 and 11 begin May 15. Keystone testing will end May 23 and students will make up days missed May 24 and 25. On testing days, those who are not taking the test will have two-hour delays. School counselors have posted testing schedules in the hallways and students are recommended to check whether or not they are required to take the test(s).

Memorial Day break begins May 26. Students do not have to report to school on this day or May 29.
