Northampton Area Public Library: Programs planned at library

Children, teen and adult programs and events continue through May at Northampton Area Public Library

Take-home do-it-yourself kits continue.

The May teen take-home kit is creating a foraged trinket dish, with pickup beginning May 8. All materials are included, and registration is required. Don’t register with an NASD email.

Pick up your adult do-it-yourself storybook paper roses craft beginning May 8. Materials are included. Space is limited so be sure to register.

Kids craft bags were are available for pickup starting May 1 for a flower bookmark and again May 15 for a handprint craft and May 30 for a rainbow pine cone fairy kit on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sunshine the therapy dog will be returning to the library 4:45-5:45 p.m. May 11. Register your child to read to her for 15-minute slots.

Join the board of trustees meeting, set for 6:30 p.m. May 11 and the Friends of Northampton Area Public Library meeting 7 p.m. May 23.

Come for fraud bingo and snacks and stay for the cyber security presentation May 15. Toni Schaller will also be available for one-on-one questions about Medicare.

Once Upon a Crime is discussing local crime with Officer Torres of the Northampton Police Department 6-7 p.m. May 22.

Our true crime club is only open to adults 19 and older.

Teen Book Club meets 6-7 p.m. May 23. The club is reading TJ Klune’s “The House in the Cerulean Sea.” Discussion of the book is ongoing on Discord.

The adult Well Read, Badly Behaved Book Club’s choice for discussion is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s “Malibu Rising.” Dessert will be available during the discussion, set for 6:30 p.m. May 30.

The adult Laid Back Book Club is reading “The Theory of (Not Quite) Everything” by Kara Gnodde. Join us for discussion on the Facebook group.
