Chris Hoenscheid has officially announced his candidacy for Emmaus Borough Council.
Hoenscheid has been a borough resident since 2005 and he is running for office because of his love for the borough.
“Emmaus is a beautiful little place that offers so much to keep our residents and visitors engaged, and I want to do my part to keep us moving in the right direction,” he said. Hoenscheid said he will bring a fresh, positive perspective; deal with issues fairly, logically and with an open mind and be fiscally responsible.
He has been an elementary school teacher in the Northampton Area School District for the past 24 years.
Hoenscheid graduated from Northampton Area Senior High School in 1988. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Teacher Certification from Millersville University, a master’s degree in educational development and strategies from Wilkes University and Pennsylvania Principal Certification from Drexel University.
He has been married to his wife Deanne for 27 years and they have a 14-year-old son, Ian, who attends Lower Macungie Middle School.
