Allen Township Board of Supervisors met April 25 to discuss an intermunicipal agreement resolution and a potential short-term lease agreement.
The agreement is in reference to the Northampton Area School District construction project. With the agreement, sewage would flow from Allen Township to East Allen Township and eventually to the Northampton Borough treatment plant.
The township will pay a $16,900 tapping fee and an annual $1,500 transportation charge, with East Allen Township and Northampton Borough covering other portions.
Solicitor Lincoln Treadwell said a new manhole will also be installed on Cesanek Road.
Supervisors approved the resolution unanimously.
In other business, the board approved a motion allowing for a short-term lease agreement for R.E. Pierson Construction Company. The project manager asked that a 10- by 30-foot or 10- by 50-foot trailer and portalet be placed in a corner of the fire department parking lot. The trailer would provide space for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation inspectors and staff for the duration of the Howertown Bridge replacement project.
Township Manager Ilene Eckhart said the company was agreeable to a price of $1,000 per month and intended to tap into the township’s electric lines.
Supervisors will next meet 6 p.m. May 9 at the fire department building, 3530 Howertown Road.
