ANIMAL CENTER DONATION: Local artist Adriano Farinella donated 20 percent of the proceeds from his Harmonic 91 painting sale to the Center for Animal Health & Welfare. Farinella presented the donation check during a tasting event at Butterhead Kitchen April 27.
The donation is part of a program established by Farinella and Butterhead Kitchen to benefit local animal shelters through a revolving seasonal installation of paintings at Butterhead’s Easton space. CAHW is the first beneficiary of the program.
“We’re honored to be selected as the first beneficiary of this program and look forward to continuing a relationship with both the artist and the restaurant,” said Dawn Brosious, development director at The Center for Animal Health & Welfare.
PROJECT PAW’S ANNIVERSARY: Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure presented Project PAW with a certificate recognizing community center’s first anniversary April 29.
Located at 452 Northampton Street in downtown Easton, Project PAW opened in April 2022 to expand the range and reach of The Center for Animal Health & Welfare’s services to the community.
Project PAW’s cat lounge serves as a satellite adoption center and temporary home to six adoptable cats. During the anniversary celebration, the organization unveiled the Doggie Den, a new space featuring adoptable dogs on a periodic basis.
Over the last year, it provided low- and no-cost vaccine and microchip clinics and pet food bank days, ran school supply drives and hosted story and craft hours and community yoga. In addition to the grant and Betty’s Corner, proceeds from its thrift store, ReSale to the Rescue, also helped to fund its operations and programs.
Animals are available for adoption at the Center for Animal Health & Welfare no-kill shelter, 1165 Island Park Road, Easton. The shelter is working to end pet overpopulation by running a clinic so animals can be spayed or neutered before they go home.
