Misery feeds on the soul.
Blackening your heart
with pessimistic intention.
Stealing the desire to be more than -
leaving you discernable
from those who thought they knew you.
Anxiety, pushing delusionally
induced notions -
of false hope, and unreasonable security.
Directly through the brinks of your
once heavily guarded perceptions.
Snatching moments meant to be joyous,
And simply turning them to dark gray ash.
Moments you will never get back.
Misery feeds on the soul -
Taking the light once held close,
And snuffing it out with no hesitation,
Because misery is always hungry.
