Once you step foot through the wide welcoming doors,
you enter a different reality.
One where relaxing and coffee are the only option,
You enter The Midnight Cafe.
The soft murmurs vibrate through your one ear and out the other,
the nightly dimmed lights by each table take form
and light the way for the guests,
the sizzle and crackle of the fire interrupted the rattling of
voices in the room.
Finally, you take your seat on a warm silk couch now
having time to take in your surroundings.
You study each person and thing carefully.
Some may have their head down on a soft cushion after
a tiring day,
others could be studying for an important exam,
the freshly brewed smell of Columbian roast invades your nose,
You continue to look around the room for some time,
then notice a server sauntering over with two mugs and a spoon,
the server gives you a warm smile and places the mugs down,
they stir the coffee at a slow pace before setting down the metal spoon,
you sigh and pick up the mug taking a large sip,
Your head rises suddenly and you stare at the server.
Columbian roast, mellow acidity and a strong caramel sweetness, perhaps
with a nutty undertone.
You smile and take another sip.
The server gives you a smile with one final glance and says,
“Welcome to The Midnight Cafe.”
