I have danced with the devil herself

And sang the songs of angels

I have jumped from cliff to cliff

Without needing to look down

Or think twice

And I was born from my magnetism

My father said, “She is the one.”

And he pulled me into the family

From Earth’s seed I

Was strong enough to grow

And then to walk on top of the Earth

And to hold the responsibility to take care of it

Now I embrace the wisdom of the stars tightly

I have harnessed the moon out of the sky

And pulled it toward me to be my muse

My laugh is a quickly spreading storm

It is more powerful than any old president

Any man who could try to snatch my rights

Cannot stop it, for my laughter

Is mesmerizingly flawed

Its volume is overwhelming

Its friendliness is soft

Its resilience is breathtaking to anybody

Who has the privilege of ever hearing it even once

I was made to be shiny and colorful

My eyes are the green-gray hazel

Of the witches and wise women

Who summoned me from absolutely nothing

I will one day conjure another soul

Out of the purest emptiness

And into our big, blossoming world

To keep my legacy alive
