Tennis postseason begins this week

The Salisbury boys tennis team completed its regular season Monday, dropping its final match after winning three straight.

The Falcons finish the regular season at 7-5 overall and 6-3 in Colonial matches a they head into the postseason.

The Falcons lost 4-1 to Southern Lehigh on Monday. Individual match scores were not received by the Press.

Salisbury beat Wilson 5-0 last Thursday for it’s third straight win. Singles payers Nolan Grejda and Jacob Knerr won in straight sets, while singles player Tristan Monahan won by forfeit against the Warriors. The Falcon doubles team of Jackson Kramp and Mo Suleiman won its match 6-0, 6-0 while the team of Ahmen Suleiman and Blaine Berger picked up a forfeit win.

Salisbury beat Pen Argly 4-0 last week as Grejda, Monahan and Knerr all won in straight sets, while Ahmed Suleiman and Berger pulled out a three-set match, 7-6, 3-6, 7-5 and Mo Suleiman and Kramp won in two sets.

The Falcons beat Colonial League North Division leader Palmerton 3-2 on Monday, April 10. Knerr won his singles match while the doubles teams of Ahmed Suleiman/Berger and Mo Sulieman/Kramp won in straight sets.

The Falcons will compete in the Colonial League Championships on Thursday. The team has also qualified for the District 11 Class 2A Team Championships as the No. 6 seed. They will likely face No. 3 Central Catholic in the first round of that tournament, which is scheduled to begin Monday, May 1.

Some Salisbury players could also compete in the District 11 singles tournament (April 24-25) and the doubles championships (April 27-28).
