Marian L. Hagopian, 100, formerly of Lower Macungie Township, died April 17, 2023, in Heather Glen Senior Living, Allentown.
She was the widow of Edward Hagopian.
Born in Oakland, Calif., she was the daughter of the late George Nelson and Lela (McCory) Lynch.
She honorably served as a seaman first class with the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943-46 in a military unit known as the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service).
She was active throughout her 100 years as she lived in California, Michigan, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
Avid reader and gardener, she taught Sunday school, volunteered in hospitals, founded Paradise Genealogy Library and was a member of the Mayflower Society and DAR.
Her family benefited from her talent with textiles, including upholstery and hooking rugs.
She was much loved by family and friends.
Her survivors include her daughter Ellen Held (Tom) of Allentown; grandchildren Matthew (Ewa), Edward (Michelle), Brian (Angelina) and Holly; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased her son Gerald M. Hagopian; siblings Franklin, Vernon, Margaret Pryor and Lucille Harrell; and half-brothers Orlin Raymond, Edmund Lynch and George “Bud” Lynch.
Her services will be private.
