Bobby Lanyon announces bid for school board director

Bobby Lanyon has announced his candidacy for Parkland School Board director.

He emigrated from Australia to the USA in 2005.

Lanyon is married and has three sons.

He serves as CEO and chief servant of AIG Safety which manufactures and distributes cutting edge safety equipment for mobile machinery.

Lanyon says he is passionate his children receive the best education possible in the Parkland school District, especially his son with Down syndrome.

The candidate says as a board member, he will make the difference to create a more fiscally responsible educational organization that understands proper stewardship of the taxpayers burden which funds the school and therefore, avoid the need to raise taxes.

“I will make fundamental changes to how budgets, policy and curriculum are decided,” he said. “Parents and community stakeholders should know as much as they want to know about what decisions are made for their children.

“Significantly increase parental involvement into their child’s education and extracurricular activities.

“This includes controversial societal trends that are imbedding themselves into school systems across the country.”

Parkland School District is fundamentally an educational institution, Lanyon says.

“I have experience not only running a locally owned and operated business, but also as former president of the Eastern Pennsylvania Down Syndrome Center and founding member of the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Council,” he said.

Lanyon and his running mates together strive to “Elevate Education, not taxes” in Parkland School District.
