Park upgrades encourage outdoor activities in Salisbury

PRESS PHOTOS BY JIM MARSH Four Salisbury Township parks have recently received facility updates that promise more outdoor activity opportunities for area residents. ABOVE: Four new pickleball courts are provided for enthusiasts of that fast-growing sport at Green Acres Park, with access from Andrea Drive.
A tennis enthusiast practices his serve at the entirely reconstructed tennis courts at Devonshire Park, along Bevin Drive. Starting last year, the deteriorating courts previously at the site were removed down to bare soil and replaced with new playing surface, nets and fencing.
The Laubach Park tennis courts have had pickleball court markings applied along with the tennis court markings to allow dual use by enthusiasts of both sports.
The pavilion at Salisbury Township's River Road Park, located at 1655 Jeter Ave., has been replaced in its entirety with a new sun and rain shelter.
