Egypt/Cementon: Civil War re-enactment, encampment to held at Parkway

There is a Civil War re-enactment and encampment planned for 10 a.m.-7 p.m. April 29 and again 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 30 at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St. Admission is free.

Register your 5- to 18-year-old child for Egypt Memorial Park’s softball teams by 4 p.m. May 1.

The softball season runs through Oct. 31.

The band Mere Mortals will perform for members and their guests 7-10 p.m. May 13 at Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road.

Members attend free. There is a small cover charge for guests of members.

Stop by Whitehall Lions Club’s White Cane Day event, scheduled for 9 a.m.-noon May 13 at Redner‘s Warehouse Market, 101 Held Drive, Northampton. Enjoy a free homemade baked good as you learn how the Lions help people with visual impairments.

Laurel Fire Company, 5114 Third St., Cementon, will be hosting a Mother’s Day breakfast 8-11:30 a.m. May 14. There is a cost.

Each mother will receive a special surprise.

Registration for Camp Whitehall will be accepted May 15, 17, 18, 22, 24 and 25 at the township municipal building, 3219 MacArthur Road.

Children in grades 1-6 who reside in Whitehall or Coplay are eligible to attend the camp, which will be held during June, July and August at Hokendauqua Park and Playground, 3417 Lehigh St. Busing will not be available. Campers must bring their own lunch and beverages.

Camp activities will include sports, arts, crafts and swimming.

The annual Timberidge neighborhood yard sale, off Levans Road at Black Forest Drive in North Whitehall Township, is set for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. May 20.

Go to the information table at Black Forest and Juniper drives for maps, games and tickets for the bounce house.

The games and bounce house will be available 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Purchase food and drinks at the food trucks 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Egypt Community Church, 4129 S. Church St., is accepting registrations for its Vacation Bible School, Keepers of the Kingdom.

The program, planned for 6-8:30 p.m. June 19-26, will be held in the fellowship hall.

All children who plan to attend must be registered at egyptcc.org.

Egypt Fire Company, 4099 Kuhn Lane, is recruiting volunteer firefighters. Men, women and youth ages 14 and up are invited to apply at the fire station Mondays after 6:30 p.m.
