Carl Albert Rohrbach

Carl Albert Rohrbach, 92, of Whitehall, died April 14, 2023. He was the husband of Ruth Alisae (Lindenmuth) Rohrbach for 72 years.

Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Obediah Daniel and Esther Mae (Walters) Rohrbach.

He was a 1949 Allentown High School and a 1959 Pennsylvania State University, Allentown extension, graduate. He received his license as a professional engineer.

He was in the Army Signal Corps for two years during the Korean conflict.

He was a professional engineer and structural engineer at Air Products and Chemicals for 42 years until he retired in January 1996. He was part owner of the Cottage Boutique.

He was a lifetime member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where he was as a Sunday school teacher and church lector. He was on the fellowship and social ministry committees and was in the chime choir. He was on the church council at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Coplay.

He was a lifetime member of Hokendauqua American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714, National AARP, Lehigh County Senior Citizen’s Center and AirPRO. He was a member of Porter Lodge 284 F&AM; 32nd Degree Mason, Lehigh Consistory; MORA Club of Allentown; Northampton Men’s Retirement Club; and vice president and program chairman of Whitehall-Coplay AARP.

He was an adviser to Boy Scouts and Explorer Post 53, Coplay; a baseball commissioner at Hokendauqua Playground; a merit badge counselor for swimming and life saving; and a PIAA swimming official.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Sharon Lee Lucas and husband Tim, Carla Anne Wolbach and husband Don, Eric Carl and wife Michele and LeAnne Ruth Rohrbach and wife Sally DiBartolo; seven grandchildren, Kyle Kinney and wife Amber, Tyler Kinney and wife Erin Palmer, Adam Wolbach, Drew Kinney, Evan Wolbach and wife Julie, Sarah Rohrbach and Ben Rohrbach; and six great-grandchildren, Kayla and Nathan Kinney, Luke, Asher and Luna Wolbach and Elijah Kinney-Palmer.

He was predeceased by six siblings, Betty, June, Marion, Mary Jane, William and Dale.
