Republican Kimberly Brubaker has announced her candidacy for the office of Catasauqua Borough Council.
She has been a resident of Catasauqua for 20 years.
“I would be honored to represent the community of Catasauqua,” Brubaker said. “There is so much potential here to have a thriving community. I feel that I have the integrity, work ethic and humility to serve our community effectively.”
Brubaker is currently the chair of the Catasauqua Main Streets program. She’s volunteered with the organization for more than 10 years. Main Streets has partnered with other organizations and businesses in the community to make improvements to the downtown area with numerous revitalization projects.
She has also served on the planning commission for the borough.
She ran the Bridge Street Studio in Catasauqua, where she had gallery shows and pop-up shops. Brubaker also worked as an art director for Rodale Press, then started a successful freelance design business that she has been running for more than 20 years. She also currently assists at Brubaker Funeral Home, the family business.
“I have attended many borough council meetings, especially over the past year, and I am eager to learn more about the budget issues and code enforcement,” Brubaker said. “I would like to see more community involvement and input, and I will bring a positive outlook and vision to the future of our town.”
She has been married to Andrew Brubaker, for more than 20 years. They have two children, Lucy and Jack, and a dog named Ruby.
