Dieruff’s “Seussical” follows favorite Dr. Seuss characters from the Jungle of Nool to the invisible world of the Whos, 7 p.m. April 27, 28, 29, auditorium, Dieruff High School, 815 N. Irving St., Allentown.
Director-Producer-Set Designer Kim Carson is assisted by Assistant Director-Choreographer Jaedon Muhl, Pit Director Nicholas Conti,
Costume Designer Emily Duh and Lighting and Sound Designer Anthony Forchielli of City Entertainment Systems.
With music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, book by Ahrens and Flaherty, and co-conceived by Eric Idle, the musical is based on the illustrated books of Dr. Seuss. The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, and Jojo, a little boy with a big imagination, are featured in the fantastical, magical, lyrical adventure.
When the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged, they can emerge triumphant.
The 2000 Broadway production received one Tony Award nomination.
Musical numbers include “Oh, The Thinks You Can Think,” “Alone in the Universe,” “Notice Me Horton,” “Amazing Mayzie” and “It’s Possible.”
