PSU to hold college visit at EHS

The Hornet’s Nest, Emmaus High School’s school store, will be closed now through April 20, reopening April 24.

For its 12th annual T-shirt fundraiser, the Global Citizens Club will sell long-sleeved shirts, short-sleeved shirts and hoodies until April 21. This year’s design features the following message in 16 languages: “Our Differences Make Us Human.” Fundraiser proceeds will benefit a charity chosen by club members. Pennsylvania State University and Savannah College of Art and Design will visit EHS April 21 and 25, respectively. Both visits will occur in the counseling offices, with registration available on Naviance.

The EHS counseling department will host a college fair 6-8 p.m. April 27 in the Main and Auxiliary gyms. At the event, over 125 college, military and trade school representatives will offer information on post-secondary career tracks. The Class of 2024 is accepting class officer applications now through April 27. Available roles include president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. To apply, find all forms on the Class of 2024 Schoology page. Alternatively, hard copies are available in Rooms 419 and 426.

Elections will be held online May 8-11 during which all juniors may vote. With questions, contact bohl@eastpennsd.org or ckhinks@eastpennsd.org.

Now through April 28, junior prom tickets will be sold during all lunches and Hornet Homeroom periods (excluding Thursdays). For all attendees outside of Emmaus High School, a guest pass must be approved and submitted to an assistant principal by April 26. Additionally, juniors must clear all debts and outstanding obligations, such as detention, before purchasing tickets. The junior prom will be held at DeSales University May 13. Open to all district families, the EHS band will host its annual spring concert 7-9 p.m. May 2 in the school auditorium.

The Scholastic Assessment Test [SAT] will be administered 7:45 a.m. May 6 at EHS. While regular registration has closed for this test, late registration is available until April 25. For more information, visit https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/dates/may-6-2023-sat-test-date.
