Sterling S. Frable Jr.

Sterling S. Frable Jr., 72, of Walnutport, died April 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife, Joyce A. (Walters) Frabl, were married 51 years in March.

Born Nov. 29, 1950, in Aquashicola, Carbon County, he was the son of the late Sterling S. Frable Sr. and Mary M. (Christman) Frable.

He faithfully and honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era.

He was a heavy equipment operator at the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 542, before retiring in 2021.

Concurrently, he co-owned with his family, Frable’s Deer Processing, Slatington, for more than 50 years.

He took many trips on his Harley Davidson with his wife and loved taking their classic cars to car shows with their friends.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing.

He loved his family and, in particular, thought the world of his great-grandchildren Brayden and Aubrey.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by sons Jason A. Frable (Crystal) of Walnutport and Jeremy J. Frable (Melanie) of Slatington; sister Cindy Bonser of Palmerton; grandchildren Kailey E. Frable (Jonathan) and Justin J. Frable (Nichole); and great-grandchildren Brayden and Aubrey.

He was predeceased by sisters Mary Wallace and Dorothy Demko and grandson Chase E. Frable.

His service will be private, at the convenience of the family.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
