Sheckler Elementary School is in search of an assistant principal. This is an Act 93 position and will begin July 1.

The deadline for applications is April 21 and can be submitted to humanreources@cattysd.org or in person at 201 N. 14th St.

Sheckler Elementary will welcome Madison Higgins to the teaching staff at the start of the 2023-24 school year. Higgins completed her student teaching placement at Sheckler, has been a frequent substitute and is currently a certified Title 1 aide.

April’s Students of the Month have been revealed, and the students were recognized during the monthly school board meeting. Congratulations to Lexi, Payton, Karen, Avery, Ryder, Pierre and Janiah.

English PSSA testing will occur April 24-26 for third and fourth grades. Makeup days will run April 27-28.

PSSA testing for math and science will be held during the first week of May.

Catasauqua will be offering a youth football camp, free of charge, for students in kindergarten through seventh grade.

The camp is scheduled for noon-1:30 p.m. April 30 and May 7 and 21 at Alumni Field.
