The Emmaus boys track and field program continued to make noise in the EPC with victories over Easton and Whitehall last week.
The Green Hornets beat the Red Rovers 106-44 and downed the Zephyrs 122-27.
In the battle with Easton, Blaise Verrastro took the 100 and 200-meter dashes, while Jared Petre took the 800 run and Oscar Felegy claimed the 1,600 and 3,200. Lucian Facchiano won the 110 hurdles and the Green Hornets swept all three relay races.
Emmaus had success also in the field events against the Rovers with Tyler Grabinski claiming the pole vault and Kyle Moore winning the long jump and the triple jump. Tyriq Smith had also a fine day, winning the javelin throw.
The win over Whitehall followed a similar storyline with Emmaus runners dominating the track events. Verrastro, just like against Easton, won the 100 and 200. Brett Pevec entered the winner’s circle with his 800 triumph. Petre emerged victorious in the 1,600 and Ryan Fach also finished on top in the 3,200. Facchiano claimed the 110 and 300 hurdles while Emmaus won two of three relays.
Lucian Freeman won the high jump while steady Aiden Hurlburt took the pole vault. Kyle Moore and Evan Loro also looked good, with Moore winning the long jump and Loro the triple. Hornet fans can keep an eye on Benjamin Mercado, who claimed a shot put victory, and Frank Gagliardo who won the discus.
“This team has tremendous athletes who can perform high at the district and state level, as long at they remain healthy,” Reinhard said.
Next up for the green and gold is a trip to Palisades on April 14.
