Leonzi hangs 10 goals on ACC

The Parkland High School girls lacrosse team split a pair of games last week, falling to Central Bucks West in nonconference action 18-14 and then defeating Central Catholic 22-15.

Against CB West, Parkland had its scoring come from a team-high five goals and an assist by Gigi Leonzi, three goals and an assist by Hannah Car, two goals out of Riley Santa-Anna and a goal apiece from Ella Esteban, Anna Sensinger, Milla Hahn and Addison Winfield. Esteban also had an assist.

The Bucks got their scoring out of four goals and an assist from Aida Ienubino, three goals and a game-high five assists from Bella Schrandt and three goals and an assist by Ashley Lott, two goals by Raylin Tulio and Grace Naylor, with the latter getting an assist. O’Felia Rusilaski, Isabella Carter and Alexis Barklage each had a goal and Emma Heim had two assists and Katie Casle added one.

The Trojans went to Moravian College and took down the Vikettes. They outscored them 12-8 in the first half and 10-7 in the second half for the EPC victory.

Parkland was led in scoring by a season-best 10 goals from Leonzi. Sensinger and Car both had hat tricks with the latter adding three assists as well. Esteban and Santa-Anna both recorded two goals and two assists. Hahn had one goal and three assists and Winfield contributed one goal and one assist.

Hailey Smith finished with nine saves in goal for the Trojans.

Parkland is 3-5 overall and 3-1 in the conference. The Trojans are currently behind first-place Pleasant Valley (7-0, 5-0) and Emmaus (7-1, 3-0). The Trojans fell to Moravian Academy this past Monday and had a game with Bethlehem Catholic canceled. They are at Springfield Delco in nonconference action on Saturday.
